2019 Masquerading Angels Ball Recap

What an incredible night for such a great cause!

Sponsors:

We are so incredibly grateful for the amazing sponsors who supported our event.

Thank you to:

Attendees

We sold over 100 tickets for this year event and had attendees flying in from as far as Wyoming and Utah. It was a great turn out for a great cause!

Speakers

For first time in all our 24 years, our Co-Founder, Rhonda Montague, publicly share the story of her son, Preston. It was incredibly touching and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Hope Clyde shared the inspirational story of her son, Tyler, who is a teenage CDH survivor. She shared how Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia is still a struggle and worry for her family.

Tracy Meats, CHERUBS President, told the story of her son, Ian, also a teenage CDH Survivor and shared the great work of our Patient Support Division and volunteers.

Because of technical issues, a taped speech from the mom of Landon, Amanda Gazave, was unable to be played. We are so grateful for her help and look forward to sharing this video in many other ways.

Set up

It took an army to plan, pack, move, decorate and take down the event. We are so incredibly thankful for all the members of that army:

  • Randy and Hope Clyde
  • Chris and Tracy Meats
  • Brad and Lisa Morris
  • Nathan Scott
  • Patricia Jones
  • Alice Johnston
  • Dakota Jones
  • Glen and Robin Lilly
  • Joe and Rhonda Montague
  • Elizabeth Griffin
  • Laura Tomczyk
  • Jeff Pavelka
  • Jason Collins

And we wouldn’t have been able to pull it off without the help of Girl Scout Troop 780 of Wake Forest, NC!

Music

Special thanks to the incredible band, Suicide Blond, for playing and to Warren Sumner, Realtor, for sponsoring (and singing)!

Celebrity Crasher

We even had a celeb crash the event! Hillary of Farr of “Love It or List It‘ dropped by!

Auctions and Games

We had a live painter, Tesh Parek, who created a beautiful painting during the event that was auctioned off at the end of the night.
