Earlier this month, our President, Dawn Ireland, traveled to Leuven, Belgium to attend the 2026 CDH Study Group Conference.
At this conference, we were updated on the latest Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Research, of which there was nothing “spectacularly new” but there were updates on current research. We were excited to meet many new and upcoming pediatric surgeons, neonatologists and OBs with a special interest in CDH, especially those with compassion for all the patients globally and a goal to save as many children as possible.
We look forward to sharing research information as it becomes publicly available.
We said goodbye to retiring pediatric surgeons and also to the French leader, Fanny, who is a co-founder of ACDHO and will be sorely missed. However, we welcome the new French leader. It was wonderful to catch up with the French, Japanese, and Swedish CDH charities and to meet a long-time member of our charity for the first time.
We walked away with 3 new research collaborations and 2 additional applicants for CDH Centers of Excellence accreditations. as well as meetings with ongoing collaborating research teams.
