Caroline King – Co-Host of the CDH Survivors Show
Caroline was born with a left-sided congenital diaphragmatic hernia with low odds for survival. She spent just over one month in the NICU for stabilization and her initial CDH repair surgery before going home with her parents. Throughout her child, teen, and young adult years, she has had frequent specialist visits, therapies, and several additional surgeries.
Now, as an adult CDH survivor, she is eager to increase awareness and support for CDH patients. Despite dealing with many ongoing health issues related to CDH, Caroline has dedicated much of the past few years to bringing awareness to CDH and collaborating with the broader rare disease community to advocate for improved research funding and access to treatment. She is also a social work student focusing many of her assignments on the social and emotional sides of rare/complex diseases and disability.
Caroline is excited to be a co-host for CDH International’s Adult CDH Survivor Podcast which is aimed at increased awareness of CDH and encouragement for other CDH patients and their families.
