We want to introduce you to CDH International’s Florida Ambassador, Libby Matteson. Libby is the mom to cherub Hunter.
Libby is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and moved to Lake Wales, Florida, in 2005 to finish college. She graduated from Warner University with a degree in Elementary Education and got married to her husband Michael the following year. She taught Kindergarten at a local elementary school for four years until she had her first son, LCDH survivor Hunter, in 2013. She decided to stay home with him and had her second son, Parker, two years later. Libby and Michael have kept in touch with Winnie Palmer Hospital (where Hunter was born) and have participated in their Walk for Winnie raising awareness for babies in the NICU. When Parker was almost two, she taught music at Hunter’s preschool one day a week for two years. This past fall, she decided to go back to the classroom part-time and is teaching VPK at the same preschool. She is a baseball mom and living in Florida, she loves to go to the beach or on the boat with her family. Her Cherub Hunter is almost six years old and nearing the end of kindergarten and proudly shows off his tough-man scar! Although CDH is a difficult journey, it has brought their family closer and made their faith even stronger.
