Featured cherub of the week is Tristan Alderete. Tristan is the son of Jessie and April Alderete. Jessie is one of our Texas CDH International Ambassadors. This is what Tristan’s family had to share:
“We found out our baby boy had CDH at our 20 week ultrasound. Evan as a nurse, I had never heard of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. Our providers in New Mexico told us from the very beginning his case was sever and we were referred to Texas for evaluation and possible FETO. We ended up not doing FETO, but did move to Houston for care at Texas Children’s. Tristan was on ECMO for 3 weeks and in the NICU for almost 6 months. We received amazing care and our boy is thriving because of it!
The day we were diagnosed we were referred to CHERUBS. We are beyond grateful for the education, love, and support Cherubs has provided us throughout this journey. We have never felt alone thanks to our Cherubs family!”
