CDHi President, Dawn Ireland, once again spoke that the Global Initiative for Children’s Surgery (GICS) event. This happens only every 2 years. Also in attendance where CDHi Medical Advisors, Dr Henry Rice and Naomi Wright, as well as former Advisor, Dr. Neema Kasaje.
This year, the event was in Johannasburg, South Africa and attended by over 200 pediatric surgeons, general practitioners and nurses who are working together to combat the global problem of the lack of surgery care for children.
Also while in Johannasburg, Ms. Ireland was honored to meet our Ambassador for South Africa, Amanda Dean, for the first time, along with her husband, Grant, and CDH survivor, Tristan.
