Featured CDH International’s Missouri Ambassador is Laura Henderson. Laura is the mother to CDH survivor Lucie.
Laura Henderson is the mom to CDH survivor Lucie who was born July 1, 2013 @ SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in Missouri. Lucie was diagnosed with Left-sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, pleural effusion, and hydrops at 24 weeks gestation. Lucie was born via C-section at 37 weeks. She spent 19 days on an oscillator and traditional vent. She had her repair done at 10 days old with a gortex patch. She went home at 29 days without oxygen or feeding support. Lucie is now in grade school and doing very well. She has asthma that is controlled with a daily inhaler.
Laura lives with her husband and daughters Lucie and Lydia in St. Peters, Missouri, and is the CDHi ambassador for Missouri. Laura works for St. Cletus Catholic Church as the Coordinator of Religious Education. In her free time she likes to read, do puzzles, sew, and do vinyl work among many other crafts.
