CDH International is very happy to welcome our long-time friend and supporter, Derek Bateson, to our Executive Board of Directors in the United States.
Derek Bateson is recently retired from Residential Real Estate. He came to the USA in 2006 and after a few years with Coldwell Banker (HPW) he founded Bateson Realty in 2010.. Bateson Realty was a very successful full-service company with many agents serving both Buyers and Sellers. Derek now spends some of his time remodeling homes. He was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and has also lived in the UK, France and Switzerland. He served in the Royal Air Force for 5 years in ground communications and was privileged to see several Concorde test flights before the plane was introduced to commercial service. Derek’s background is in electronics and after 15 years he founded Snowline Holidays, a tour operation firm offering ski vacations to Switzerland and France. Derek’s main passion is Bicycles and he is an avid racer in both Cyclo Cross and Gravel racing and spends many weekly hours training in Raleigh and the mountain regions. He also enjoys, hiking, golf and tennis and is a qualified Alpine Ski instructor. He is relatively fluent in French and speaks a small amount of German. Derek demonstrates good communication skills which probably derives from being Irish and having the “Gift of the Gab”! He has reached a time in his life where he wants to give back. He was introduced to CDH International some 10 years ago through business networking and hopes to provide support both here in the USA and also in Europe, specifically in Ireland.
