We want to introduce you to CDH International’s Pennsylvania Ambassador, Joy Whitesel. Joy is the mom to cherub Jase.
Joy is a full-time nurse, wife, and mother. She lives in Honey Grove, PA, with her spouse and two children. They have a 10 year old girl, and a 2 year old boy. Their son, Jase, was born in 2016 with undiagnosed LCDH. Even as a pediatric home care nurse, she had never heard of CDH until they were told their son had a 50% chance of surviving this horrid birth defect. Jase was transferred from their small, rural, country hospital, to a larger facility with a NICU and had his hernia repair surgery at 6 days old. He is currently doing very well. Their experience with their son’s CDH has changed many perspectives in their lives.
