CDH International welcomes California Ambassador Jacob Aptekar to the volunteer team! Jacob is the father to CDH survivor Cecilia.
Jacob Aptekar is the father to CDH survivor, Cecilia. He lives with his wife and daughter in Oakland, CA where he works as a physician-scientist helping to develop new medications. Cecilia was diagnosed with right-sided CDH during an ultrasound scan towards the end of her second trimester. After many doctor visits and months of worry, Cecilia was born at UCSF. She has responded extremely well to the treatments she received and now is a happy, healthy baby at home with her family. Jacob is looking forward to working with families touched by CDH–as a listening ear, as someone who is familiar with both the treatments and the experience of being treated and as a parent to miracle baby.
