Featured CDH International’s Michigan Ambassador is Colleen Martin. Colleen is the mom to CDH Survivor Quinn.
Colleen Martin grew up in Farmington Hills, Michigan, as the 6th of 10 children. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Communications. From there, she served two years in AmeriCorps in Chicago tutoring and mentoring youth and engaging the community to volunteer. After returning to Michigan, she earned her Montessori Certification and worked as a lead toddler teacher.
Colleen married Jon in July of 2013. In August 2014, their CDH survivor, Quinn, was born at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Colleen decided to stay at home to care for her little victor. Colleen and Jon welcomed their second child, James, in April of 2016. Quinn has had many residual effects from CDH, including her unresolved daily struggle with feeding.
Colleen enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is looking forward to providing support and sharing her resources with other CDH families.
