Featured cherub of the week is CDH survivor, Avery Justice. Avery is the son of Sarah Justice and she had this to share about Avery:
“Avery was born September 8th, 2010, in Nashville, TN, with a left-sided congenital diaphragmatic hernia. He spent 3 months in the NICU at Vanderbilt with his first repair surgery at 4 days old. He faced multiple setbacks, infections and moments where we weren’t sure what the outcome would be. He reherniated at almost 4 years old and we were so close to losing him but he was so incredibly strong with great doctors and was able to pull through. He is now a strong-willed, intelligent and brave 9 year old. He’s a big brother to 2 siblings and means so much to those around him. I’m so very thankful that Avery is for the most part healthy and thriving.”
