Abstract
We report a case of right-sided intrathoracic kidney (ITK) associated with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) in a 5-year-old boy. The surgery was performed by a combined thoracoscopic and laparoscopic surgical approach for the first time. Anatomical reposition of the right kidney and nephropexy were carried out under laparoscopy, while repair of the hernia was performed under thoracoscopy. Our experience suggests that combined thoracoscopic and laparoscopic approach provides good visualization of the diaphragmatic hernia and can achieve anatomical reposition and fixation of the ectopic kidney.
