Featured CDH International’s Pennsylvania Ambassador is Polly Leipold. Polly is the mother to CDH survivor Hillary.
Polly primarily lives in Western PA, just east of Pittsburgh, but has had the pleasure of spending winter in FL the last couple years. The warmer climate agrees with her! Polly is a certified mathematics teacher and works as a “Math Coach” for PA Cyber Charter School and is also an adjunct instructor at Westmoreland County Community College. Polly keeps the books for her husband’s business as well. Besides numbers, faith and sports play a big role in Polly’s life. She serves in various capacities at her church, including leading a small group and singing in the choir. Polly loves sports and is an especially loyal fan of the black-and-gold teams from Pittsburgh. She just completed her second Spring Training as a volunteer with the Bradenton Pirates Booster Club. This year she had the pleasure of serving as an usher and welcoming fans to LECOM Park, the Spring Training home of her beloved Pittsburgh Pirates. In her spare time, Polly enjoys writing a blog (theultim8gift.com). Polly’s writing expresses her faith through her life experiences. Of course, one of the experiences that has shaped her faith most has been being mom to CHERUB Hillary, a 23-year old LCDH survivor. Hillary’s life is a frequent topic of Polly’s writing, both directly and indirectly.
