From our President, Dawn Ireland:
I was extremely honored to be asked to speak at the 2018 Global Genes Summit this week in Irvine, California. “Non- Profit 101: Launch and Governance of a Non-Profit” – the good, bad and the ugly in all the pieces of creating a charity. I’ve mentored many non-profit leaders over the 24 years since CDH International was founded but this was very first time I spoke in front of an audience of fellow and future non-profit leaders. I am so grateful for that opportunity.
This year’s event was extraordinary. All the speakers were wonderful and engaging, everyone came away with new knowledge and fresh determination for our causes. I was able to talk about CDH International, raise some Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Awareness, spend time with my Rare Advocacy Movement – RAM colleagues, meet a CDH mom in person after 11 years, see one of our Medical Advisory Board members and met so many new advocates.
Thank you Global Genes for all you do for the rare disease community.
