We want to introduce you to CDH International’s Pennsylvania Ambassador, Cate Scharle. Cat Scharle is the mom to cherub Liam.
Cate is a mother of 2 boys, Liam 3 and Gavin 7 months, from Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia was first introduced into her life at her 20-week anatomy scan during her first pregnancy with Liam. The anatomy scan showed Liam’s stomach, spleen and part of his bowel were up through a hole on the left side of his diaphragm. Unsure of what this really meant, Cate did some research. Upon months of researching, she came across the CHERUBS Facebook Support Group and got connected to mothers all over the world who had experienced what she was about to go through. These families gave her so much hope, prayers, and empathy. Cate was so beyond happy to have found this wonderful community who was there for her when her family did not know how to be. Liam is now a crazy, 3-year-old, who is thriving! Cate is honored to be a CDHi Ambassador for all those families out there who need someone to be there for them, when their friends and families do not know how to be.
