Featured CDH International’s Connecticut Ambassador is Sherri Ashburner. Sherri is the mother to CDH survivor Niall.
Sherri Ashburner has a BA in Writing from Norwich University which was of no help when her CDH son was born in November of 1999. After two and a half years of homecare nurses and ventilators, the family left all that behind in PA and moved back to CT, where Sherri became a bookseller once again, at her favorite indie bookstore. She is currently working on her writing as her CDH son is now a college student at a CT university. Sherri also reads voraciously, attends writing workshops/conferences whenever she can, and ushers at the Ivoryton Playhouse. Sherri lives in the shoreline town of Westbrook, CT, with her husband, two sons, three cats, and a rescue dog.
