Event Organizer Rachel Von Hatten had this to share with CDHi, “On June 26th, 2021, we had our 5th annual Trekking for CDH at Lindendale Park in Highland Illinois. Our event brought out 250 people and we were able to raise $12,000 to be donated to CDH International.
The event originally started in 2017 as a celebration of CDH survivor, Tucker VonHatten’s first birthday. Since then, it has grown into an annual event and gets larger each year. In 2019, we were joined by another family in Highland whose son, Barrett Korte, was born with CDH in 2018. Tucker’s mom, Rachel, and Barrett’s dad, Kyle, graduated high school together in Highland, small world!
Over the last 5 years, we have been able to donate $40,000 to CDHI.”
