Featured CDH International’s New Jersey Volunteer is Jaclyn “Jackie” Doell. She volunteers as a New Jersey Ambassador and an awareness team member. Jackie is the mom to CDH survivor Joseph.
Jaclyn Doell holds a master’s degree in nursing and works as a pediatric clinical nurse specialist at a children’s hospital in New Jersey. Her passion for caring for critically ill children brought her to the pediatric intensive care setting, where she thoughtfully guides families through their most difficult moments. In doing so, she’s been privileged to witness undeniable courage and resiliency that fosters hope not just in her patients, but also in Jaclyn herself.
In March 2016, Jaclyn found her role reversed and learned firsthand what it was like to navigate a life-changing diagnosis. Her son, Joseph, was born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. His journey was an exceptionally challenging one, but today he’s fortunate to be a happy, healthy toddler. He has forever inspired her to look at life through a different lens. Drawing on her experience as both a nurse and mother, Jaclyn serves as an ambassador for CDHi, supporting families and raising awareness.
